Last night i went to Catholic Mass with my mother because there was a service to celebrate the Immaculate Conception of Jesus. The service was very nice and all that jazz, but as i sat there i began to really think about how amazing Jesus' birth was... I mean ive heard so many times about the many miracles that surrounded his birth and ministry, What with blind eyes being opened and food being created out of nowhere and the dead being raisesd. As i thought about i realized how "not a big deal" it was to me... I mean i just took fro granted the fact that these impossibloe things happened and shrugged them off as nothing, because everything is always so big and spectacular when it comes to God. This made me wonder what i really thought was amazing and what kind of encounter with God would mean the most.... Would it mean the most if he used me to perform a miracle as a sign to an unbelieving world, or used me to bring healing to a lost soul who really needed it, and if not these then what would mean the most? As i sat there thinking this i heard the Priest giving his sermon about Jesus and his birth and Mary and Joseph and he painted this amazing picture of a family. This simple thought of Jesus childhood being normal, or family oriented had never occurred to me, and the Awe that should have been on me wehn i heard about his miracles actually set in when i thought about him being normal... I mean he was a human after all, but i guess since he is God i never really thought about that, and at that very moment i realized what kind of encounter with a real physiacl Jesus would mean the most to me.... A hug... Just a simple moment of security in his arms, comforting me and showing how he loves me and allowing me to Express my love and real emotion for him...
So World, i know this isnt a very good blog today...; but i challenge you to look at God as normal, and see what kind of Awe it inspires.... look forward to the day when u can just chill with him in Heaven and Hug him :-)

President Obama
This morning brings news that our new President Elect is Barack Obama. Saying President Obama has a funny ring to it but as Americans we have 4 years to grow accustomed to it. We will also have many new and different ideas to grow accustomed to as our new president leads us into an "Era of change and reform".
I write this in response to the reaction I've seen among the majority of my Christian/Conservative friends and Colleagues. It appears that because we have a liberal President that Armageddon is upon us and the end of the world is near. It also seems that God allowing this travesty to take place Is a sign that his judgement is near. I would like to preface my response by saying I am very conservative and voted for McCain, and agree that for moral purposes he was the better candidate ( I.e. Abortion, Same Sex Marriage, etc...) but I think this idea that a liberal leader is the end of a successful America is a bit.... Fanatical. I agree it's not ideal but we have had liberal leaders before and we have fared just fine! We just need to trust that God has our best interests at heart!
I'd like to comfort you all with this scripture:
Romans 13:1 (NIV)
"Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorites that exist have been established by God"
Paul brings out here that all authority is established by God. God sees our situation here and not only sympothizes but made it happen this way... God put President Obama in his position and will accomplish his purpose through him.
So my friends we can stop this chatter about Armageddon, and the end of the world. God has it under control, let's not allow emotion or fanaticism get the better of us, but rather trust God made the right decision and move forward. Let's not allow discontent or emotion or even Fanatacism give the world another reason to peg us Christians as nutjobs with this end of the world Armageddon rhetoric... We give them enough reasons without adding this!
So here is what I propose...
Let's continue as good citizens to stand for our beliefs and vote accordingly and trust that the God who this country was established on is the same God he said he was in Romans 13, and let's place faith and trust in his decision!!

Ted Kennedy
The big news for Democrats on Tuesday was supposed to be the primaries in Kentucky and Oregon, and how close Obama would come to the nomination, and what it all meant for Florida and Michigan, and for women, and of course for the fall election. But it wasn’t, at least not for this Democrat. The race for the White House was overshadowed by something bigger.
Cancer.
The morning brought the news that Senator Edward M. Kennedy, EMK or “the Senator” , had gotten the worst possible explanation for the seizures he suffered on Saturday, the one that everyone dreads when they hear about seizures, the one that you pray will be ruled out right away so that more mundane, more treatable causes can be considered.
But we know if anyone can pull through a hard time, It is a Kennedy. Our prayers are with you Ted.
